Perhaps the most controversial function of chambers, being involved in politics, is quickly becoming the norm for a large number of high functioning chambers of commerce. The Ventura Chamber of Commerce may choose to endorse candidates, take positions on legislation or be at the table on policy consideration.
Our chamber has a separate Political Action Committee that is responsible for identifying and supporting candidates and incumbents for office and supporting those who support the business community’s interests.
We also belong to the Regional Legislative Alliance which currently represents many chambers in the region by researching, tracking and taking positions on legislation that may be damaging or supportive of the business community. |
